The purpose of this blog is not to get better, but to get worse.
Bros.... I got... wolf-whistled today.... WOLF. WHISTLED. CATCALLED.
STREET HARRASSED. OBJECTIFIED. I AM NOW AN OBJECT; A
BOYTOY. AN UNUSED STICK. EYE RAPED BROWNIE. UNBROKEN
BROKE RENTBOY. FUNNY DUDE. A PRIZE. VISUAL PUMP N DUMP.
JOHNNY FOR THE JOHNNY. CHOCOLATE TWINKIE. WOMANLY
THINGY. APPRECIABLE ARTIFACT. QUITE THE SPECIMEN. A QUICK
LICK. QUACK QUACK. CHIRP CHIRP. TWEET TWEET. CAW CAW.
Jokes aside, street harassment of women is a serious problem. Yes, women in
particular. The reason I say women is because women disproportionately suffer
from it. 65% of women in the United States have suffered from street
harassment–almost always by men (in comparison, only 25% of men have had to
deal with it). That means a majority of women in the U.S. have been
harassed on the streets. And when I say "harassment," I not only mean
degrading, objectifying acts like wolf-whistling and catcalling, but more serious
things like exposure, touching, molestation, and stalking. A whopping 41%
of women have suffered physical street harassment. In fact, the verbal
forms of harassment often act as a gateway to the physical forms. And
the result on women's psyche can't be understated. Many of them feel
intense body shame as a result. And many can't go out in public without
fearing for their safety. What the fuck does that say about our society?
We're well past #MeToo, and rape culture is still so pervasive, even in
broad daylight, that women still have to be on edge 24/7. Frankly, it's not
okay. It's NOT fucking okay that women have to disproportionately suffer
from this issue. It's NOT fucking okay that men keep doing this despite
knowing better. It's unequitable. And it needs to fucking change. We need to
close the 65%-25% grope gap. It's not fair. Why can't boys like me also
get some? I spend all this effort shaving, combing my hair, putting on
decent clothes, and I've never been groped in the bus. This is NOT fucking
okay. Absolutely not fucking okay. Do you know how demoralizing this is?
Men all over the world are in a constant state of sexual repression, and
they are taught by the patriarchy to take it out on women, instead of
young folks like me. And the results can be catastrophic. Imagine how
many lives would be saved if some kind soul gave Elliot Rodger a quick
buttcheek grab. Or gave a dysphoric Ted Kaczynski a little grinding session
against the train window. Or gave Dylan Roof a tan handed shoulder rub, a
brown lipped whisper in the ear, a reach-around with big black hands.
Jokes aside, street harassment isn't okay towards any gender. And, ultimately, the
problem does mainly lay with men. Not only because they're the main
perpetrators, but also because they don't speak up when it happens in plain sight.
smdh i can't believe I have to explain this to yall. but men: If you see someone
else catcalling or honking or smth @ a passerby, fucking do something. Yall mfs
have to speak up. Tell them it's NOT COOL. Make a scene, be an example.
staying silent makes you part of the problem. if you hear someone make a
misogynistic joke, SPEAK THE F##K UP. dont just stay silent and enable it.
dont act like youre a part of the revolution if you gonna be a fake ass
wuss. don't just mf tweet about being an ally then sit around doing jack
shit when shit actually hits the fan. Get. off. your. damn. ass. and be a
fucking positive force towards change. ONE MORE TIME FOR THE
FOLKS IN THE BACK: Street (clap). Harassment (clap). Is (clap). Not
(clap). Fucking (clap). Okay (clap). Unless it's towards me, holeinmyheart.
If it's towards me, then it is completely morally justified. Actually, if
you currently have Evil Karma (-749 to -250) from all the harassment
you've performed on women, you can wolf-whistle and catcall me to level
up your Karma to Neutral (-249 to +249), and if you grope and chikan
me you can maybe even get back up to Good (+250 to +749). And if
you want to reach Very Good (+750 to +1000), you have to rape me.
JOKES ASIDE, don't join the globohomo. It's not worth it. Trust me. I mean,
you can twink out, wear stockings, give into your AGP, couch to 5k, crack your
skull against the /g/ slippery slope, get an Onlyfans, use filtered anime
profile pics, hold your thumb out in the highway in girl's clothes, wink at
your taxi driver and give them a handjob, learn pole dancing, and all
that. All of that is completely fine, and I even encourage it. Just don't
get the covid vaccine LOOLOLOLOLO JK JK JK JK JK JK JK JK.
JOKES. ASIDE. Wow, this post is getting worse and worse LMFAO. I can't
believe I called 7.1 "shitass" and follow it up directly with this. Errrr, well,
longtime readers know this blog's catchphrase.
J-jokes aside... Umm. Listen: All I wanted to do is thank the person who
wolf-whistled me. I LIKED IT. I couldn't see who you were cause you were
driving by, but I shall relish on your lewd compliment for days to come.
So we have the "arithmetic genus", which according to the exercise is...
"important"!
pa(Y ) | = (-1)r(P Y (0) - 1) | (1) |
OK, so turns out that Prop 7.6 is gonna be very useful for this post:
In particular, the PROOF of Prop 7.6 is gonna be useful:
(c) tells us that
PPn(z) | = | ||
PPn(0) | = | ||
= 1 |
Hence,
pa(Pn) | = (-1)n(1 - 1) | ||
= 0 |
Done!
A plane curve H in P2 is really just a hypersurface of P2. So we can use (d)
from the Prop 7.6 proof:
PH(z) | = - | ||
= - | |||
= (z + 2)(z + 1) - (z - d + 2)(z - d + 1)
PH(0) | = ((0 + 2)(0 + 1) - (0 - d + 2)(0 - d + 1)
= 1 - (2 - d)(1 - d) | |||
= 1 - (d - 1)(d - 2) | |||
And plugging this into the arithmetic genus formula (1) (r = 1) finishes it off
OK, same idea except we don't get to plug in n = 2. LETT'S GOOOO
PH(z) | = - | ||
= (z + n)(z + n - 1) (z + 1) - (z - d + n)(z - d + n - 1) (z - d + 1)
PH(0) | = (n)(n - 1) (1) - (-d + n)(-d + n - 1) (-d + 1)
= n! - (-d + n)(-d + n - 1) (-d + 1)
= 1 - (-d + n)(-d + n - 1) (-d + 1)
= 1 + (d - n)(d - n + 1) (d - 1)
= 1 + | |||
And again, plugging it into (1) finishes it off!
I was GONNA do part (d) and part (e) today as well, but, errr, CHECK BACK
IN TOMORROW.
